If you are into free stuff, check out the free grunge “LOLLIDOT” textures I found today. Maybe you noticed, our background just changed. I decided to add a layer of grunge, using one of the super backgrounds released by the LBOI (LITTLE BOX OF IDEAS) Design Blog (thanks, Twitter friends!)
All I did was add a layer, paste in the lollidot texture, set its opacity to about 50% and voila! Still got my background, just with a grunge twist.
Oh yeah, I also shrank the width down to 1600 because everything in their free zip file comes at a super high res 3600 by 3600 pixels, so you can use them for larger projects, too. For my purposes, 1600 will suffice, although I could probably have gone down to 1200 pixels.
If you like these, why not leave a comment on their blog here. You’ll have to visit them to see the images anyways, because the one you see on this blog is darkened to allow the text to be read. But the actual colors are much brighter.
